Dr. Elizabeth Heintzkill has committed her career to education, bound with a constant and insatiable appetite for mentoring others and supporting the success of all students. For over twenty years, Elizabeth has served in her classroom and workplace and as a community builder, encouraging, collaborating, and ensuring others’ success. Currently, Elizabeth manages the Early Middle College program across the State of Michigan, designing curriculum and engagement opportunities for Early Middle College platforms through dynamic K-12 and University partnerships. Previously, while working in the Higher Education sector, Elizabeth designed leadership programs for the Integral Leadership Portfolio at the University of Notre Dame, harboring a built-in concentration for the development of professionals across the globe. Among a fierce attention to faculty engagement, enrollment and retention strategies, and maintaining the highest research-based curriculum standards, Elizabeth has designated her career to supporting others' success. Previously a high school English teacher and later a college professor, her work in the classroom displays an equal balance of poise and pluck. For the last decade, she has worked on a variety of Career Exploration and Development teams, and has taught an even wider variety of First Year Studies programs associated with self-discovery on an advanced career trajectory. She is a certified Myers-Briggs and STRONG Interest Inventory practitioner. Elizabeth has received numerous teaching awards as well as recognition for pedagogical excellence within the Division of Student Affairs at Central Michigan University. She has delivered, at large, many keynote addresses, which have highlighted the topic of nurturing equitability within the higher education sector. Her research has been developed on a platform of pedagogical retention initiatives, explicitly aligned to Vincent Tinto’s theory of on-campus connectivity. Elizabeth has studied and obtained keen insight and experience on various topics related to education, specifically scholarship and inclusion. Under Elizabeth’s teaching excellence and leadership, she has helped foster learning opportunities for thousands of students and has facilitated the operational excellence of promoting and developing more inclusive campus communities. She has committed her career to encouraging diversity, creating vibrant and bold opportunities for optimal student success, and helping to create men and women of influence who bring about positive change in our global communities. Elizabeth obtained her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership, her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, and her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education.
